Mohammad Jahidul Azad is an Academician, Researcher, Teacher Trainer, Writer, and Former National Debater. Currently serving as an Associate Professor in the Department of English, he has built a reputation for combining rigorous academic insight with practical teaching expertise. Since joining on February 6, 2012, he has held several dignified positions of the University, including Head of the Department of English, Additional Director of IQAC, Member of the Academic Council, Assistant Proctor, and Convener of the Cultural Club. At present, as the Moderator of the Prime University Debating Club and the Prime University Photographic Society, he plays a key role in fostering critical thinking, public speaking, and leadership among students through organized co-curricular activities.
Mr. Azad completed his Honors and first Master’s in English from Prime University and was awarded the prestigious "Chancellor’s Gold Medal", the highest academic distinction, for outstanding academic excellence. He completed his second Master's in English Studies at the Department of English at Jahangirnagar University, demonstrating his academic talent. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Comparative Feminist Literature at the Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP) under the supervision of eminent educationist Prof. Dr. M. Maniruzzaman, Professor, Department of English, Jahangirnahar University. He also completed prestigious E-Teacher Courses at George Mason University and the University of Maryland, USA, nominated by the US Embassy in Dhaka. Besides, he received training in Research from several universities. He has a good number of National and International Publications and has experience supervising Graduate and Postgraduate Dissertations. He holds esteemed positions on the Editorial Boards of several reputable national and international journals.
As the Additional Director (QA) of the Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Prime University since 2016, he has worked rigorously to complete HEQEP project-related activities successfully. Prime University was one of the 69 universities in Round 4 of the project. During the period, he received numerous training sessions on QA in Higher Education and OBE at home and abroad, organized by the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh (UGC). He is also an enlisted Quality Assurance Expert of UGC. He is a practitioner of QA in higher education (HE) as a Resource Person, Facilitator, External Peer Reviewer, and Trainer. Adept at curriculum design, OBE-based curriculum development, research supervision, and modern pedagogical approaches, his thoughtful teaching, continuous learning, and strong commitment to excellence contribute to ensuring quality in higher education at Prime University and to advancing the broader field of quality in higher education.
