Dr Engr Md Kamrul Hasan is Head of the Department of Fashion Design and Apparel Engineering at Prime University. He read for his MSc and PhD at universities in the United Kingdom, supported by fully funded competitive scholarships. He has held academic and research appointments at UK universities, including roles as Lecturer and Research Associate, and is currently a Visiting Research Fellow at a British university.

His academic work is concerned with the relationship between design and engineering within fashion and textile education. A particular focus of his teaching and curriculum development is the structured use of computer-aided design (CAD) as a means of linking creative practice with technical understanding. He has led the development and implementation of the BSc in Fashion Design and Apparel Engineering programme at Prime University, in which digital tools are embedded progressively across the curriculum.

His academic vision is to establish a rigorous and coherent model of fashion education that integrates design, engineering, and digital methods, in response to the changing demands of the apparel sector and the broader movement towards higher value-added production.
