Assistant Professor
Md. Abdur Rahim is a dedicated academic, researcher, and industry-experienced professional in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Prime University, Dhaka. He possesses a rich blend of academic expertise and practical industry experience, contributing to both teaching excellence and applied research.
Prior to his current position, he served at German University Bangladesh as Assistant Professor, Head of the Department of CSE, and Lecturer, where he played a pivotal role in academic leadership, curriculum development, quality assurance, and accreditation activities. His contributions to Outcome-Based Education (OBE), Program Self-Assessment (PSAC), and institutional quality enhancement initiatives highlight his commitment to maintaining global academic standards.
Prior to academia, he worked as a Manager (MIS), Software Engineer, and System Engineer, gaining practical expertise in software and IT systems.
These roles strengthened his practical expertise in software development, system management, enterprise solutions, and IT infrastructure, which he effectively integrates into his teaching and research.
His research interests encompass Cloud Computing, Edge Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), Wireless Networks, Mobile Communication, Machine Learning, Fedarated Learning, and Software Engineering. He has authored and co-authored numerous publications in reputable international journals, focusing on emerging technologies and real-world problem-solving approaches.
Mr. Rahim holds an M.Sc. in Computer Science from Jahangirnagar University and a B.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering from Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University. He is currently pursuing his PhD in CSE at Dhaka University of Engineering and Technology (DUET), further advancing his research capabilities.
In addition to teaching and research, he is actively engaged in student mentorship, thesis supervision, academic committee work, and the organization of co-curricular activities. His multidisciplinary skill set, leadership experience, and commitment to innovation enable him to contribute significantly to the development of competent graduates and the advancement of modern computing education.
